With so little information, it is almost impossible to give you a helpful answer. Please answer all the following questions:

1. How slow is 'slow'? Please put a number on it, even if approximate.

2. Is it slow doing everything, or just some things? What things?

3. Has it always been slow? If not, when did it start? What changes did you make, to hardware or software, just before it started?

4. What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run?
5. Do you practice safe hex?

6. What is the computer's hardware configuration?

7. What level of Windows 7are you running?

Normally, you may perform defragment, disk clean up , update programs to speed up system.

Since you provided so much info about your laptop, we have to use our ESP to figure out which OS you're running. Try these steps, if they apply. Otherwise, DETAILS please.

Cyber_Defend_Team's advices, and:

Run a scan with Adwcleaner. Get it here: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ Do this from time to time. If it requires restart, to remove anything, it finds, do it. And when it's time for downloading a new Adwcleaner, simply delete the old one.

Go to the computer manufacturer's webpage, and check if your computer can take more RAM. On their support-page, you can check for exactly your computermodel and number.

You can Clean Up Factory Bloatware

which can improve performance greatly.

If problems persist you can run a Repair Install which will reinstall Windows while keeping your files and programs in place. This solves many performance problems.

However there is no comparison with the performance which results by doing a Clean Reinstall Windows 7 so if you haven't done one yet I would focus on having the best install possible which is the one in the link - better than any amount of money can buy.

I see the thread was moved to Windows 7 forum without your stating it as the OS. If this is Windows 8 or 10 follow these same steps instead for Windows 10 Performance and Install Integrity Checklist - Microsoft Community to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done.

FYI, Defrag does nothing to speed up the latest systems, and is rarely necessary if at all. In fact, on my Win7 desktop I chose to analyze a couple times. When I went through the list of fragmented files, they were all either installers, image files, sound or video files, or something else that wasn't important enough to run defrag for.

Running defrag to speed up Windows, was a Win9x thing. We're waaay past those days. :)

If having SSD-drive, we don't need to defrag... And defraging an SSD, can reduce the lifetime for such 'disks'.

But cleanup systemfiles, helps.
